Ok one guess as to where Im linking to in this blog. Go ahead....guess....yup you guessed it, gaming confectionery guru Snack or Die. This time Jocelyn gives us what might be my favorite creation yet...
Not only adorable, but these cupcakes are low-fat! Man Kirby could sure use some low-fat cupcakes himself! Its a simple mix using the old trick of Diet-Sprite when mixing the cake batter to cut down on sugar. The Diet-Sprite also ads a nice fluffiness to the mixture. After baking the cupcakes like normal all you need is some cake decorating gel and two little M&Ms to create your little Kirby's.
Its actually incredibly simple and thats what makes this recipe so wonderful, anyone even with the worst cake decorating skills could execute this confection. So no excuses for not making this deliciously geeky treat!
The Dutch have done it again! The graduate show at Dutch design school, Design Academy Eindhoven, is showing Maarten De Ceulaer’s A Pile of Suitcases as part of Dutch Design Week.
"While the project seems simple enough—a wardrobe made from a grouping of suitcases—it evinces de Ceulaer’s peculiar philosophy of combining the poetic with the practical: “I try to base my designs on a strong, simple and pure concept… to question what I see around me, and translate that in an object. I think poetry, humour and communication of ideas are very important aspects of my designs, but at the same time I want to make useful and functional objects with that way of thinking.” A Pile of Suitcases wardrobe comes with “well-measured compartments” and “steel profiles [that] keep the pile firmly together.” In its construction, the piece responds to the very real needs of its user."
Sign me up for one! I always love when furniture looks like one thing but is in fact another. Plus the retro feel of the suitcases is just too awesome.
